Materials Management Overview
The Materials Management Subsystem (MMS) maintains material sample test result information and may automatically compute price adjustments based on the material test results.
The workflow of MMS is shown in the following graphic with a description of each of the steps following the graphic.
Materials
Materials can be added and edited in the Material Definition Window. Users can also associate items and tests to the material. Tests are created in the Tests Window and added to a material here with the option of requiring or not requiring the test.
Inventory
In the Inventory Window users can manage material inventories to be used in the Construction Management Subsystem (CMS).
Acceptances
In the Acceptance Maintenance Window, users can create and edit Methods of Acceptance (MOA) and Evidence of Inspection (EOI) for use in materials management.
Vendors
The Vendors Window is used to create and manage material vendors in the iPDWeb application.
Descriptions
The descriptions used in the Material Definition Window can be edited in the Descriptions Window.
Mix Designs
Users can create, review, and edit mix designs to ensure sample tests are accurate in the Mix Designs Window. From here, variables, attributes, and other components associated with a mix design can be added, edited, or removed.
Samples
The Samples Window is the main window in Materials Management. In this window, all samples are shown in a table with their ID, associated contract, material, status, and much more. Filters can be added to view only certain samples. Tests can be viewed and executed here, and samples can be created, associated with a test, and edited.
Tests
Tests can be created and edited in the Tests Window. Tests are made up of questions and calculations that can be created and added to a test in this window. Questions and calculations can also be added to the question library for future use.
Laboratory
Laboratory information and inspection records can be reviewed and manged in the Laboratory Window. Contact information, addresses, name history, current and past inspections, and associated documents for laboratories can all be reviewed from this window.
Inspectors
Inspector records and associated documents can be reviewed and managed from the Inspectors Window.
