Edit Obligation Information

Overview

The process to edit obligation transaction information is available through the Obligation Tab

 

Prerequisites

A user must be authorized to edit obligations.

 

Edit Obligation Information

To edit obligation information:

  • Search for and select a contract from the Select Contract drop-down menu.

  • Navigate to the Obligation Tab.

  • Click on the obligation transaction to be edited in the Obligation list. This will highlight the obligation in the list and populate the detail window with information about that obligation transaction.

  • Edit desired field(s).
    •  Select an Appropriation Key or Transaction Status from the drop-down menus.

    • Edit the obligation sequence number as necessary.

    • Edit quantity in the Specified Amount field as necessary.

    • Use the "Include with Release" checkbox to indicate whether authorizations will be included with the release of an obligation.

  • Add pertinent comments.

  • Click on the Save Button.

 

Notes

  • The Comments field in the Obligation Tab automatically logs any edits made to an obligation transaction. Manual comments appear in the field using the same format, including user name and time stamp.

  • Obligations can only be added to appropriations with a Posting Allowed value set to "Yes."

  • Obligations can be added to active or inactive appropriations.

  • Users are prevented from saving changes to a system item to which changes have already been made. This prevents concurrency errors.
