Add Question

Overview

The process to add a question to a test is available through the Questions Tab of the Test Definitions Tab, which can be accessed through the Tests Window.

Prerequisites

A test must have been added.

Add Question

To add a question:

  • Select a test from the drop-down menu.

  • Right click anywhere in the Questions Table.

  • Select "Add Question" in the context-sensitive menu.

    • Users can also begin the process of adding a question by clicking the Add Button above the Questions table.

  • A new pop-up window is displayed

    • Enter the information in the required fields indicated by an asterisk.

    • Check boxes to indicate if a question is required, visible, a passing result, included in print, etc. The function of each checkbox is described in more detail in the Questions Tab help file.

    • Select a question type, then fill out the responses. Question types are described in more detail in the Questions Tab help file.

    • Click on the Save Button or the Save to Library Button.

  • Note that the new question is added to the test.

Notes

  • Saving to the library will save the question to the test and to the question library.

  • A question can be imported by selecting it from the Import from Library drop-down menu and clicking on the Import Button.

  • To reference a question from another test, choose “Linked Test Question” in the Question Type field. Two more fields will appear, “Linked Test” and “Linked Question.” Choose the desired linked test from the Linked Test field, then choose the question you’d like to reference in the Linked Question field.

  • To enter a number with a specified number of decimal places, choose “Short Answer” as the Question Type. Then choose “Number” as the Data Type, and “Decimal Places” as the Precision Type. Enter the desired number of decimal places in the Precision Value field.

  • Users are prevented from saving changes to a system item to which changes have already been made. This prevents concurrency errors.
